My brothers Ken The Messenger and Swol Ray, who I sometimes call Swol the Rapper have a song called “Faith Moves”, and I know a thing or two about faith moves. You can’t always look at a person and know their story or what they’re going through and do I have a story that attests to my faith moves. I was incarcerated, and I walked into the prison system with Psalm 23 on my lips, especially, Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me, because that was exactly where I was going. And just like Joseph, I found favor while I was there. Proverbs 24:16 says For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: I had the good sense to get back up again.
After I was released and having trouble finding a job I enrolled in school, not knowing how I was going to pay for it. This faith move saw me get a degree, having a 4.0 GPA, how did I do it, it was “All God”.
Pastor Hannah is always saying your job is not your source, and I can attest to that. For the past six months, I have been averaging one day of work a week, or one day of work that I get paid for doing. I do other things during the week for the experience and the knowledge that I get from doing that you can’t put a price tag on. Those things don’t pay the bills though, and the due date for a bill might be approaching with my bank balance being -$6. The Lord provides though, a brother might give me money for no apparent reason, and another well, an opportunity to talk to some grad students about my experiences with re-entry might arise where I will be fed pizza, and an honorarium might even be involved, and another well, they had me with pizza. My bills get paid, and I may not understand it, but it’s all God.
Faith Moves is more than just a song or Swol Rays Brand, https://faithmoves.online/, Faith Moves is a lifestyle. Although my struggle to find a job has been real, man likes to hold on tight to the past; I have prayed, asking God for forgiveness, and Micah 7:18-19 says Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. I might get an email about a job that I applied for, informing me that they found another candidate, then get another email the next day with the same job listing. I just remember that that wasn’t the job for me and that what God has for me a background check won’t keep it from me, My God's gone work it out, I promise I ain't got no doubt. How's that for a faith move.
